An all-solid-state potentiometric sensor for iodide and cyanide ions was developed. A rigid and mechanically robust membrane was obtained by the dispersion of the mixed silver iodide/silver sulfide salt in epoxy. The developed sensor showed very good potentiometric characteristics to iodide ions and cyanide ions as exhibited by its Nernstian response and high linearity. Response times ofless than a minute are common. The surface can be renewed by simple polishing to produce a reproducible surface.Downloads
