Abstract

A simple demonstration simulating the cloud chamber is used as a concrete example of the operation of the First Law of Thermodynamics and Le Chatelier's principle. All along the students are actively involved in the learning process, using appropriate teaching strategies. They are asked to predict, observe, and explain the event being studied. They are encouraged to analyze the situation, test explanations, and organize the information into a valid hypothesis by employing the Suchman Inquiry method.
