Centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) belongs to the family called countercurrent chromatography (CCC) which involves liquid-liquid partition, and does not employ a solid support matrix. Although it has been applied to separate and purify a broad range of synthetic and naturally occurring chemical species, CPC offers distinct advantages for the separation ofbioactive components from crude extracts of plants, marine organisms and microbial fermentation media. This paper will give some examples of the different applications of CPC.Downloads
